Her acclaimed 1991 studio debut Mais was followed by 1994's Verde, Anil, Amarelo, Cor de Rosa e Carvão. 2000's Memórias, Crônicas, e Declaracões de Amor netted her first (of four) Latin Grammys. 2002's Tribalistas with Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown sold over two million copies. In 2006 she released Universo Ao Meu Redor and Infinito Particular simultaneously. 2011's O Que Você Quer Saber de Verdade marked her last studio outing for a decade. 2017 saw Tribalistas cut a self-titled reunion album followed a tour. In 2021, Monte returned to solo studio recording with Portas. Recorded across four countries, its 16 songs were cut during the pandemic and packed with songwriting and production collaborations from her many associates, and released on her 54th birthday.
