DJ Speedsta

DJ Speedsta’s melodic hip-hop songs often feature emerging South African talent. Born Lesego Nkaiseng in the Vaal Triangle in South Africa’s Gauteng province in 1992, Speedsta attributes his musical sensibilities to the soul music that his father, a former DJ, used to play around the house. His juggernaut 2016 single, “Mayo”, was built over a mellow, keyboard-driven beat that perfectly complemented the infectious melodies of Yung Swiss and Tellaman and the new-age raps of Shane Eagle and Frank Casino. An avid skateboarder and radio DJ, Speedsta has his ear to the streets and introduces South Africa to the next generation of hip-hop and R&B stars with every release.
