About TWS
When Pledis Entertainment group TWS burst onto the K-pop scene in January 2024, they were the company’s first new boy band since Seventeen debuted nine years prior, launching with six members: Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin. They introduced their school-centric concept as “boyhood pop,” meant to evoke the experiences and emotions of the ordinary lives of teen boys. The group’s name, which is pronounced “to us,” is short for “Twenty Four Seven With Us,” and is meant as a promise to their fans, called 42 (pronounced “sa-ee,” in Korean), to always be together. Their debut song was titled “plot twist” in English, but its Korean-language title was more apt: “첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아,” or “The first meeting didn’t go as planned.” The song was Korea’s most-streamed debut song of the year. Other notable TWS tracks include: “Oh Mymy : 7s,” “If I’m S, Can You Be My N?,” “hey! hey!,” and “Last Festival.”
